"ONE WALK ONE HOPE"

CAN-STOP (Cancer Support Therapy to Overcome Pain), a community-based voluntary organization and an outreach initiative of Sundaram Medical Foundation, is proud to celebrate 27 years of service in supporting individuals affected by cancer. Founded by Dr. Vijaya Bharathi Rangarajan, CAN-STOP offers counseling, awareness programs, and screening camps.

As part of International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are excited to host our 16th Annual Walkathon, “ONE WALK ONE HOPE”, this October to raise awareness about the importance of regular breast examinations and early detection. Every year, over 5,000 people participate in the Walkathon, coming together in solidarity to support the cause.

This event serves as a powerful reminder that early detection saves lives and community action drives change. We invite everyone to walk with us and spread the message of hope, strength, and awareness.

Together Against Breast Cancer

14% of cancers in Indian women are breast cancer, with one woman diagnosed every four minutes.
Women in their 30s to 50s are at considerable risk of developing breast cancer.

According to ICMR and NCRP, breast cancer accounts for 27–32% of all cancers among Indian women.
Overall, 1 in 28 Indian women is likely to develop breast cancer in her lifetime.
